Supporting Afghan Women and Families in Canada
WPSO-Canada creates safe, culturally responsive spaces and opportunities for Afghan women, girls, and families to access support, knowledge, and services in their own languages.
Who We Are
Women & Peace Studies Organization (WPSO)-Canada is a nonprofit organization registered in Ontario in 2021.
We support Afghan women, girls, and families in Canada through culturally appropriate programs, language-accessible services, and community-based support that promotes integration, well-being, and empowerment.
Community Needs
Many Afghan newcomer families face barriers that affect safety, well-being, and full participation in Canadian society.

Support is often needed to navigate health care, schools, courts, police, and social services.
Language Barriers
Limited access to services and information because of language differences.
Legal Awareness
Many families need more information about family law, child protection, and women’s rights.
Women and seniors may experience isolation and limited access to technology and community support.
Social Isolation
Mental Health & Well-being
Awareness workshops, psychoeducation, and referrals to culturally sensitive mental health and support services.
Education Rights Awareness
Workshops and community sessions on women’s rights, family law, child protection, and access to information.

Support with employment readiness, referrals, skills development, and economic participation.
